Most violence against gays come from gays. 
  According to the reports of NCAVP, in 2007, the total number of violence cases against LGBT in the US is 1,833 incidences (p.6).  However, the total number of cases of domestic violence among LGBT couples is 3,319 (p.7).  Compare with 1999, here is the trend:

In other words, violence against LGBT is decreasing, but violence committed among LGBT couples is increasing.
