Is ssm the same as inter-racial marriage? 

Saying that these two are equal is like comparing apples and oranges.  Consider the differences:

       Inter-racial marriageSame sex couples
  a.  a man and a womantwo persons of the same sex
  b.  natural sexual union            harmful sexual union             
  c.  potential for reproduction     no potential for reproduction
  d.  children learn from a dadchildren lose a dad or a mom
       and a mom                          as role model

Based on these simple reasons, inter-racial marriage is the same as any traditional 1-man-1-woman marriage, hence full legalization should be and is granted.  Same sex couples, however, differ in these ways from traditional marriages and should remain in the category of "domestic partners".
